Bistro V
Marc and Evelyne Penvenne have been proud to serve Greenwich for over 25 years at Méli-Mélo, but their story actually began in 1990 as employees at Versailles.
Our beloved Avenue has seen many changes over the years and when Marc spotted the “for sale” sign posted on Versailles’ front door, nostalgia kicked in. He could not see another Greenwich establishment go.
A facelift, a name shift, and Bistro V was reborn. Inspired by their memories growing up in classic Bistros in France, Marc and Evelyne are excited to share another cozy local hangout with their loyal patrons from Méli-Mélo and newcomers alike.
Located in the heart of Greenwich, Bistro V is an all-day cafe serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everyone’s favorite meal – weekend brunch. Enjoy our happy hour Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., and visit our social profiles for other promotions and specials throughout the week and weekend.
The Pâtisserie at Bistro V embraces traditional recipes for buttery croissants, éclairs, apple tarte tatin, mousse and charlotte cakes, classic dacquoise, Napoléon, petit fours and freshly baked bread, all developed by former owner/chef Maurice Clos-Versailles, dating back to 1980 when the patisserie first opened. Today, these bakery items continue to be prepared fresh daily, a labor of love that takes place in the wee hours of the morning so that customers can enjoy the highest quality sweet treats, savory quiches and crusty breads.
