Café Sabarsky, named for Neue Galerie New York co-founder Serge Sabarsky, is inspired by the grand Viennese cafés that stood at the center of artistic and intellectual life at the turn of the century. The space is furnished with period pieces, including lighting by Josef Hoffmann, furniture by Adolf Loos, and banquettes upholstered in a 1912 Otto Wagner fabric. A Bösendorfer grand piano anchors one corner of the Café and is used for all cabaret, chamber, and classical music performances at the museum.
