Q & A with Alexandre Pesci

Alexandre Pesci, Chairman of Rebellion Corporation, one of the drivers competing for Rebellion in the 2023 Dakar Rally revealed why staying well hydrated with the best water, like Hallstein water, is so important during the race:

By Annette Zierer

Why is good hydration so important?
Drinking enough water every day is important for many reasons: to regulate body temperature, to provide nutrients to cells, and to maintain organ function. Good hydration also improves cognition

How much do you drink?
2 to 7 litres depending on the heat level and the distance travelled.

Does the number of litres count or the water quality?
Water quality is crucial for good hydration, because pure water with the perfect parameter hydrates much better.

A rally like this is an incredible strain on the body. How do they regenerate?
That's where Hallstein actually helps us. The fact that water improves cell metabolism also improves the regenerative capacity of each individual cell and thus that of the entire body. Substances are better disposed of, and the supply of important new nutrients arrives more quickly. This also has a positive effect on energy.

How do you train for the race?
We start training at least six months before the race, maximizing endurance in cycling and jogging and core with gymnastic exercises for the upper and lower back and abdominal area to withstand and absorb shocks during the rides. Riding technique on sand and reflexes are of course trained during trainings in France and Morocco.
